Yahoo Mail has a new feature
Yahoo is testing a number of new upgrades to the free Yahoo Mail service that when completed will allow users to share photos more easily with friends and family members.
The new service "PhotoMail" will allow users to insert up to 300 photos into an e-mail and send them to hundreds of people at once. This type of e-mail can be sent easily because each thumbnail of the image is only 3-5 kilobytes.
All images inserted into the e-mail will be processed by the Yahoo server, allowing displaying the actual resolution of the image when the user clicks the thumbnail. Inserted into e-mail using drag & drop (from computer hard drive or from website).
In order to use the PhotoMail service, users need a normal Yahoo Mail account and may need to install a small piece of software.
With the introduction of PhotoMail, Yahoo also added spam-blocking capabilities and added support for six additional languages. Currently, Yahoo Mail is available in 21 different languages.
